Discover the Stitch of the Month
Stitch of the Month (SOTM) is a popular member-exclusive educational benefit on the ANG website and has been a favorite since its launch. What began as a simple monthly introduction to a new stitch has grown into a thoughtfully designed annual project released in installments.
Each year’s project may be revealed in full at the start, unfold as a mystery, or evolve as a creative learning experience. Renowned designers generously contribute both the projects and instructions.
A new file is posted on the first business day of each month.
This year, instead of stitching a 12-part charted design, we will explore 12 different patterns or ideas for creating a rich and sumptuous beard for the jolly old soul or any other man that you might be stitching.
There will not be a finished project at the end for you to frame and hang on the wall. However, there will be a lot of suggestions and information that you can combine in a notebook as reference material for how to create a beard for any design that you may choose.

These installments offer members the opportunity to practice and master a wide range of stitches while often exploring threads, color combinations, and texture. Over time, you’ll build a strong stitch repertoire that allows for many different effects on canvas. Members may choose to stitch along monthly, revisit past years beginning with basic stitches, compile a personal stitch dictionary, complete an entire annual project, or simply use the archive as a reference when searching for a specific stitch. Past and current annual projects also serve as excellent chapter programs.
